Dark Sky.

Ok, so if you’ve been out and about at any point over the last few months you will, without a doubt have borne witness to a Dark Sky record getting played out – and they go off

The first one I actually stumbled on was this bit, Leave – a neon tinged future garage affair dropping into some seriously funky arpeggiated dubstep halfway through. Still loving this record months on, the groove, the strings and that synth.. Check it.

On a slightly more chilled tip, there’s also the remix of the XX’s Crystalised, which, like Leave,  has also been on constant rotation as of late. Combining a cracking vocal cut from the indie prodigies and the obvious skill with groove and timbre that Dark Sky have, here’s a pretty hefty dose of vibes while it’s still sunny..

So, big things for Dark Sky over the coming months, not least of which will be their forthcoming Frames EP, out 12th July on Pictures Music. The boys keep the standard insanely high, working some dark funky influences in along with plenty of their signature stunning synth work and hyper-syncopated drum lines. Can definitely see this one doing some serious damage on dancefloors all over the place. Personally, I’m looking forward to hammering out Reflex in a field somewhere.
