So you’ve probably been bumping the latest album from JJ DOOM, the collaboration consisting of Doom and Jneiro Jarel.

Now here’s your chance to check out an exclusive mix coming from the man JJ, a nice balance of remixes and original tracks in the mix to keep you listening and a personal favourite of ours was hearing a Gary Numan tune dropped in the middle of it all! Dazed also conducted a mini interview with JJ.

Couldn’t help but laugh when I caught this comment on FACT the other day-

Many of UK Garage’s flash-in-the-pan producers have now moved on to the great Twice As Nice party in the sky. Wookie, however, is still representing the cause.

It’s an obvious testament to natural talent when, an artist can not only survive the death of their bread and butter genre, but still be around to be at the forefront of its resurgence over a decade later. Wookie of course has done just that, which of course shows just how much his early productions had taken hold of so many of us over the past few years.

With his tunes such as Scrappy, Battle and his Sia remix being amongst some of my favourite garage tunes of all time, I was deeply impressed when I grabbed a copy of his 40 minute promo mix for Fabric and heard all of these, nested firmly alongside bass drenched old school bangers like Sincere, Spin Spin Sugar and Groove Chronicles’ Black Puppet.

Fans of the man himself will definitely be pleasantly informed to hear that, he is actually working on releasing some new original material for the first time in years. Seemingly capitalizing on the resurgence of the embers of UK garage of course, but how could we ever really complain?!

You can catch the mix and read the full interview on the Fabric blog at the link below, ahead of his upcoming appearance at the London super-club this evening.

Whoever said grime is dead needs to go and have a long hard think. 2012 in my eyes has already proved them very, very wrong. Someone who is fully sailing the flag at full mast is perennial grime vet Terror Danjah, who comes with some new fire for the Fabric crew.

No stranger to one of london’s finest afterhours establishments, often repping the likes of his own label Hardrive and innovators Butterz, this mix marks a seminal moment for him and the rest of his Hyperdub family.

On Friday 16th of this month Room 1 sees a long overdue takeover from the institution that is Hyperdub, celebrating the launch of Scratcha’s eagerly anticipated first album Pretty Ugly (which drops on the 19th) and they’re certainly not doing things by halves. Main man Kode9 has drafted an overly strong lineup to commemorate the occasion, consisting of himself, Scratcha, Terror Danjah as well as Ikonika, Funkystepz, Ill Blu, Morgan Zarate, Ossie and Walton.

But it doesn’t stop there, Benji B is hosting room 3 along with Mickey Pearce and Bass Ache favourite Moxie plus room 2 doesn’t look too bad either, representing everything thats good about drum & bass. Full line up and ticket info after the drop.

As you can expect from Terror Danjah the mix is a high energy affair, short and sweet, full of dubs and sneaky samples in addition to his own material. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Originally one of the residents for Tresor back when rave culture hit Berlin, and backed with a DJ and production career that spans way over 20 years, we’re privileged to him mix for our podcast series.

Tanith mixes up the techno and dubstep fused sounds of Objekt right through to the juke inspired Addison Groove, with a healthy dose of UK house and featuring one of the finest Warp tracks from 1990, LFO by LFO himself. Grab the podcast and have a little read of what Tanith had to say..

Firstly for those that don’t know you.. can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hi, my name is Tanith and I’m a Berliner. Mostly known for Techno here but my love for everything with broken rhythms goes back to the time when electronic music wasn’t divided by 4tothefloor or breaks. As much as I love Techno I followed early UK Hardcore, D&B, Nuskool Breaks, 2 Step, Breaksgarage and Dubstep, I try to be an Ambassador for the Hardcore Continuum in a country with march-music in it’s genes.

And your musical career, it’s spanned over 20 years right?
Even longer, I started with Djing in 85, playing Industrial like Cabaret Voltaire, Einstürzende Neubauten, Throbbing Gristle and Skinny Puppy. Stopped that when I moved to Berlin in 87 but got hooked again when Acid came along, I was one of the first residents of Tresor Club here and still play there, played the first raves here and was the first german guy to get booked on a UK rave in 92, which was Tribal Gathering. Played everywhere, had a major deal, had two labels, got bored with that, stopped it, got into blogging (at tanith.org mostly in german though) as a better way for my send consciousness and still spin tunes.

How and where was the mix recorded?
Recorded at home with my beloved Traktor S4.

Did you have any set agenda for the mix? or did you just go with the flow?
I made a preselection of favorites and had two goes until I was satisfied with the storytelling.

The tracklisting reads as a mix certainly influenced heavily by the sounds of the UK, how are you finding those selections working in the current scene in Berlin?
Besides the much hyped Minimal sound, there is a really open minded and knowlegeable crowd here who’s into these sounds and the combination of that with Techno. There is a quite a following, you’ll find them at Sub:Stance or Leisure System at Berghain or Wax Treatment at Horst krzbrg for example.

Any plans for production work again? I’ve noticed you haven’t released in a while?
I’m always willing but I hardly find the time, with a dayjob and a little son, but I’m really craving to get some tracks done finally, it’s a really annoying mess of unfinished ideas at the moment.

Is there anything you would like to say about the mix?
This mix was made with the hope in the back of my mind, that it makes UK sounds also more comprehensible for the more techno-oriented listener.
