Youngstar’s ‘Pulse X’ still does damage in the rave on a weekly basis, I don’t see that changing for the foreseeable future. As we celebrate 10 years of the track that opened up UK grime, Liminal Sounds have put together a free remix package of ‘Pulse X’ ahead of their party on April 20th at the Rhythm Factory in London.

A remix from Slackk is included in this package. Slackk will be heading up our next Bass Ache party, keep watch for further details.

10 years on from the release of the original, we are extremely proud to be able to present to you three reworks of Youngstar’s seminal ‘Pulse X’. Widely considered to be the first grime tune ever made, ‘Pulse X’ is one of the most important, influential and recognizable tracks the scene has ever birthed. Such is the power and impact of the track that it still regularly draws rewinds in clubs every weekend and finds its way into the records bags of a diverse range of DJs.

With Youngstar having generously given us the parts to work on this project, we got three artists from the lineup to put their own unique spin on it. The result is this, LS004, a three track remix EP paying homage to one of the most important tracks of the last ten years and drawing connections between two generations of grime producers. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do…

Friday 20th April

Slimzee [Grime to Jungle set]

So they’ve done it yet again. Crazylegs are notorious for throwing some of the biggest parties on the Bristol underground club scene by putting on mammoth line-ups in big venues. However occasionally the ‘legz crew go back to basics and throw a party in a much smaller intimate venue – a party for the dedicated heads if you will. This is exactly what they have in store for us in April as they throw a party limited to 100 tickets in a small basement venue.

Youngstar, Narrows and Apple have made some of the landmark anthems in UK underground music. Whether it’s Youngstar with Pulse X, Narrows with Saved Soul or Apple with De Siegalizer, I’m sure I can probably give you an accurate description of when and where I first heard each one of these tunes and probably who played it to me. To see these three artists on one line-up is a pure pleasure, three producers of whom their tunes have contributed in a big way to crafting how the UK scene sounds today.

As I mentioned before, tickets are limited to one hundred so go go go get yours at Resident Advisor.
